Therapy for Mamas, Littles & Families

Providing specialized therapy for mothers, young children, and families during pregnancy, postpartum, the early years, and beyond.

PERINATAL THERAPY

Perinatal therapy focuses on the emotional and psychological wellness of mothers during pregnancy and the postpartum period. It encompasses the mental health challenges and adjustments that women may experience. Maintaining positive maternal mental health is crucial for the overall health of both the mother and child, as it influences the quality of the parent-child relationships and overall family dynamics.

MOTHERHOOD SUPPORT

Adjusting to motherhood can be challenging as it involves navigating various physical, emotional, and lifestyle changes. New mothers may grapple with sleep deprivation, hormonal shifts, and the demands of caring for a newborn and/or toddler. Emotional challenges such as postpartum disorders, self-doubt, and identity adjustments are expected. Balancing new responsibilities, maintaining a sense of self, and coping with social expectations can contribute to the complex landscape of adapting to motherhood.

INFANT-TODDLER THERAPY

Infant-toddler therapy refers to babies’ and toddlers’ emotional, social, and cognitive well-being. It focuses on helping the infant-toddler develop secure attachments, supports their ability to experience and regulate emotions, and supports their foundation for future mental and emotional health.

CHILD, TEEN AND FAMILY THERAPY

I offer children and adolescents both individual play and talk therapy and family therapy sessions. These family therapy sessions can be play-based or traditional talk therapy. Play therapy is a theoretically based and developmentally appropriate approach to addressing children’s unique needs.

PARENT PSYCHOTHERAPY

Parent psychotherapy, also known as parent counseling, addresses many parents’ challenges and concerns in raising their children. The intention is to help parents develop practical parenting skills, improve communication with their children, better understand their child’s behavior and emotional needs, and navigate various parenting-related issues such as discipline, family dynamics, and relationship building.
